Last night I decided to see if I could freak out my kids. Well, I didn’t start out with that as my goal but it lead into that.
I enjoy browsing through magazines and ripping out the pages that contain pictures of thinks I would like to build, recipes to try or home decor that I find appealing.
No. I am not the one that rips pages out of magazines at doctor’s offices. I only rip pages out of magazines I own or that other people have passed on to me. If you are going to rip the page out of someone’s magazine, then just take the whole magazine. I think a better option would be to take of picture of the page and then find the instructions or design on the Internet and print it out. I’m off topic.
So last night I remembered an article that I had read about making scary eyes. (No, I don’t remember which magazine to give the credit toward.) I took an empty toilet roll holder, cut some scary shaped eyes into the side and put a glow stick inside. Then out to the garage I went to strategically place the creation in a dark corner on top of the trash can. It was creepy looking. That is when I had the very caring and loving mother idea to scare my kids.
It was GREAT! Both kids were so hesitant to go anywhere near it. You could hear the hesitation in their voices as they kept asking “What is that”, that is until they realized their mom was laughing like crazy.
I’m making a bunch of these for Halloween to go along with our spiders. I’m excited! Is it too soon to prepare? No. Too soon to put them out? Yes.
